Lake County authorities have released a sketch as they continue to seek the public’s help in identifying a pregnant woman whose body was recovered this month in Lake Michigan.

The sheriff’s office generated a drawing of the woman, whose body was spotted by a fisherman about three miles southeast of Waukegan Harbor on Aug. 15.

Authorities say the woman was six to seven months pregnant. She is described as five-feet-four and weighing between 150 and 170 pounds. She had brown eyes and black hair that might have been tied into a bun. Her fingernails and toes were manicured and painted white, and she was wearing a pink summer dress, officials say.

Authorities have not yet released a preliminary cause of death.

Although the woman’s body was near Waukegan, it is possible she entered the lake from as far away as northern Indiana, authorities said. She was likely in the water between seven and 12 days, according to reports said.

Anyone with information about the woman is asked to call Sheriff’s Detective Lana LeMons at (847) 377-4148.

The same day the woman’s body was found, authorities recovered a man’s body three miles east of the Lake Forest shoreline. He was later identified as the Wisconsin man who drowned on Aug. 8, near the 63rd Street Harbor in Chicago. There is no connection between the two deaths, police say.
