IPOH: A 34-year-old salesman died after the car he was in collided with a lorry at KM8 of Jalan Sitiawan - Taiping.

       Taiping OCPD Asst Comm Osman Mamat said the victim had been identified as Fikri Birullah Firdaus from Negri Sembilan.

       "The lorry was on its way from Trong to Parit Buntar before Fikir Birullah’s car came veering from the opposite lane at about 11.25am.

       "The lorry driver couldn't avoid the car in time and both vehicles crashed," he said.

       ACP Osman said the deceased's injuries were consistent with injuries caused during a traffic crash.

       "We have contacted the victim’s next-of-kin and the vehicles involved will be sent to Puspakom for checks.

       "The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transportation Act," he added.
