PETALING JAYA: Cabinet minister Nga Kor Ming defied calls for boycotts of KK Super Mart by shopping at the convenience store.
A video of him shopping at a KK Super Mart earned praise after it was posted on TikTok on Wednesday (April 3) to urge the public not to jeopardise others' employment opportunities.
The video, which was uploaded by @harianbecok highlighted the potential impact on employees' livelihoods and urged Muslims to reconsider boycotting KK convenience stores as Hari Raya approaches.
It emphasised that legal actions have been taken and called on all parties to respect the judicial process, refraining from further boycotts to safeguard the nation's economy.
"As Hari Raya Aidilfitri approaches, let's not burden our workers. Let's not disrupt others' rice bowls," said the TikTok user.
The video underscored the risk of innocent employees losing their jobs if the boycott persists, featuring the minister making purchases at the convenience store's cashier, Sin Chew Jit Poh reported.
