IPOH: A disabled six-year-old boy has gone missing from his house in Gopeng.
Kampar OCPD Supt Hasron Nazri Hashim said Muhammad Fayyadh Ukasyah Abdul Wahid went missing from his house at No 27, Lorong Jaya, Taman Kinta Baru, on Monday at about 6.30pm.
"His mother Nur Shamimi Abdul Malek became aware that he was no longer in the living room and went in front of the house to look for him.
"She had searched areas within 50m from her house for about 10mins," Supt Hasron Nazri said.
"At about 6.50pm, the housewife informed her husband Abdul Wahid Shah, a factory operator, about the incident.
"The father arrived home at 7.10pm and started informing neighbours on WhatsApp about the matter," he added.
Supt Hasron Nazri said the police had launched a search party with the help of the Fire and Rescue Department to look for the boy in the surrounding area.
He said an investigation found that the front door and gate were opened and unlocked during the incident.
"A missing person report was lodged at 10.05pm.
"The state police contingent canine unit arrived on Tuesday (sept 7) at 12.10am and is trying to locate him," he said.
Supt Hasron said the boy, the second among five siblings, was hyperactive, had hearing problems and could not talk.
"He was last seen wearing a green-coloured BoBoiBoy t-shirt and disposable diaper," he added.
