KUALA LUMPUR: The retail price of RON97 petrol will go up by two sen to RM4.72 per litre from June 2 to 8.
In a statement on Wednesday (June 8) the Finance Ministry said the prices of RON95 petrol and diesel will remain unchanged at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre respectively.
It said the prices of RON95 petrol and diesel were maintained at their ceiling prices even though market prices have risen above this.
According to the ministry, the new price is based on the weekly retail price of petroleum products in accordance with the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) formula.
"The government will continue to monitor the trends of global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people," it said.
