GOMBAK: The police are urging Nur Sajat (pic) to come back to Malaysia willingly, says Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan.

       He said that the cosmetics entrepreneur should come back to face the charges against her in court.

       “As clever as the squirrel is at jumping, eventually it will fall back to earth. The police, along with the Foreign Ministry and the Attorney General's Chambers, are working on extraditing this person," said Comm Abd Jalil,

       “However, I also advise this individual to come home ‘in a good way’ so that the cases that are being faced can proceed,” he added at a press conference on Tuesday (Sept 21).

       Previously, Comm Abd Jalil said Nur Sajat was detained by Thai Immigration at about 6pm on Sept 8 for having an invalid passport.

       The cosmetic entrepreneur was then fined and is believed to be seeking refuge under the UNCHR.

       Nur Sajat is currently wanted for multiple offences in Malaysia, including criminal intimidation and preventing civil servants from performing their duties.

       In April, then Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador had urged Nur Sajat to come out of hiding.

       He was quoted as saying that Nur Sajat's apparent decision to flee the country was odd as she was not facing a serious charge in court.

       Abdul Hamid had said police previously succeeded in locating Nur Sajat but could not apprehend her due to challenges such as the existence of hidden passages to cross the country's borders.
