KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic) will meet Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin after he speaks with Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin regarding her decision to resign from the Cabinet.

       The Prime Minister said this was the message he recently relayed to Muhyiddin.

       “I told him that I have to meet Zuraida first. After that, I will meet him,” he said at a press conference after officiating the first phase of the Putrajaya MRT line at Sri Damansara MRT station on Thursday (June 16).

       Asked when the meeting with Zuraida would be held, Ismail Sabri said next week.

       He added that Zuraida had attended the weekly Cabinet meeting on Wednesday (June 15) as usual.

       “Yesterday she came to the Cabinet as usual. As I’ve said, her position remains until I decide.

       “Zuraida remains as a minister and she is carrying out her duties as usual,” he said.

       On June 7, Zuraida had said she was on standby to meet the Prime Minister.

       The Ampang MP announced on May 26 that she quit Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia to join Parti Bangsa Malaysia and offered to resign from her ministerial position.

       Muhyiddin, who is Bersatu president, had said that Zuraida’s Cabinet post should be given to the party’s MP.
