Scottish Tory MSP Murdo Fraser has slammed the Covid passport in Scotland, saying the plans to extend the scheme have added to “chaos and confusion” businesses have been experiencing since the start of the pandemic. On Tuesday Nicola Sturgeon confirmed that vaccine certification could be rolled out to cinemas, theatres and more hospitality venues from December 6 to contain risks of the virus spreading again.
He went on: “It could be more hospitality businesses.
“And now potentially our fiscal situation where people who have Christmas parties or lunches might have to get back in certification that they don't have."
The host asked: “Okay, it's just a few more days of uncertainty isn’t it?
The deputy first minister John Swinney has said that people in Scotland can expect a "normal Christmas" with some Covid measures.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed that vaccine certification could be rolled out to cinemas, theatres, and more hospitality venues from 6 December.
John Swinney said: "I'm very hopeful that this could be a normal Christmas," he added. "It will be a normal Christmas with us all taking care, is what I would say.
"We may have to put in place some additional measures to make sure that is the case."
