Meghan Markle's social media return discussed by expert
Meghan Markle made one very "brutal" move when she ended her first marriage in 2014, according to royal author Andrew Morton.
Prior to meeting Prince Harry in 2016, Meghan was married for three years to film producer, Trevor Engelson.
The former couple, who had previously been dating for seven years, got married in Jamaica in 2011.
After two years of long-distance marriage, Meghan and Trevor split in 2013 and were granted a no-fault divorce on the grounds of having irreconcilable differences.
According to Mr Morton, who is known for being Princess Diana's biographer, said that Meghan made the solo decision to end things - and even posted her wedding and engagement rings back to her ex.

In his book, Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, he wrote: "A wealthy entrepreneur friend claimed that the marriage ended so abruptly that Meghan sent Trevor her diamond wedding and engagement rings back to him by registered mail.
"Another confirmed that the decision to end the marriage was made by Meghan and that it had come 'totally out of the blue'."
Since their divorce, the two have both been on very different journeys.
Meghan met and married Prince Harry, before making her way as an official working royal.

This lifestyle didn't last, with the pair making the decision to step down as senior working royals less than two years later.
Following the decision to step down, the pair moved to the US - before settling into life there with their two children, four-year-old Prince Archie and two-year-old Princess Lilibet.
In 2019, the year after Meghan married Harry, Trevor tied the knot with nutritionist and multi-million dollar heiress Tracey Kurland.
Like Meghan and Harry, the pair also have two children together.

In a full-circle of events, Meghan is now reportedly looking at rebooting her career in social media.
The Californian native previously boasted a number of social accounts, with her closing them down to adhere to royal rules when she joined Harry's family.
It has been suggested that Meghan is looking back at relaunching Instagram, with her set to make as much as ￡795,000 per post.
With the rumours circulating that she has claimed an Instagram account, under the handle of @meghan, which has ranked up a staggering 120,000 followers so far.
Although this has not been confirmed to actually be Meghan, many believe it could be.
