When tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee or better known as MKBHD shared a picture of the new Mac Studio on Twitter, a few users pointed out that the device has a “Made in Malaysia” label.

       Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman even made a post where he zoomed in on the device to highlight the label and posted the image with the caption “Apple's new Mac Studio: Made in Malaysia”. Some users on Twitter expressed their excitement over the label.

       According to the Apple Supplier List released in 2021, Malaysia is home to 15 companies that are involved in manufacturing for Apple products.

       The companies are located at various locations nationwide namely Negeri Sembilan (Alps Alpine Company Limited, Nexperia B.V., ON Semiconductor Corporation), Penang (ams AG, Intel Corporation, Knowles Corporation, Lumileds Holding B.V., Molex Incorporated, Renesas Electronics Corporation), Kedah (Infineon Technologies AG), Perak (Murata Manufacturing Company Limited), Kelantan (Rohm Company Limited), Johor (STMicroelectronics N.V), Sarawak (Taiyo Yuden Company Limited) and Selangor (Texas Instruments Incorporated).

       Nikkei Asia reported in 2019 that Apple has considered moving its production from China to South-East Asia due to the trade war issues between the US and China. Malaysia along with countries such as Vietnam and Indonesia were considered the favourites for its smartphone manufacturing.

       The Apple Malaysia website lists the Mac Studio as priced from RM8,799 for the model with the M1 Max Chip while the model with the M1 Ultra Chip starts from RM16,799. Despite being locally-made, the product is currently listed as unavailable in Malaysia.
