The M23 southbound was closed this morning after initially being closed due to a 'serious crash', but the closure in place between junction 10 for Crawley and junction 11 for Pease Pottage due to standing water and debris. Drivers are now facing delays as people divert from the motorway.
Emergency services received a high number of calls from people reporting flooding in Essex due to the strong winds moving in from France.
The Met Office issued a yellow warning covering most of southern England warning people to expect transport delays, flooding and power issues.
