       Reform UK has recorded its highest-ever level of support in a Scottish poll. The research by Survation put Nigel Farage's party in third place, ahead of the Scottish Conservatives but behind the SNP and Scottish Labour.

       It found Reform would win 17% of the Holyrood constituency vote, five points ahead of the Scottish Tories. Reform is also three points ahead of the Scottish Tories in the regional vote with 16%.

       The insurgent party is up 4% from Survation's previous Holyrood poll conducted in January.

       The pollster said it marks Reform's highest level of support ever recorded in any Scottish voting intention poll.

       The findings are a boost for Mr Farage ahead of next year's crunch Scottish Parliament election.

       The right-wing party is also drawing 10% of SNP backers, 12% from Scottish Labour and 8% from the Scottish Lib Dems.

       The SNP maintains an 11-point lead over Scottish Labour in a recovery from the nationalist party which saw support drop after Nicola Sturgeon's shock resignation as leader and the police probe into its finances.

       Survation conducted an online poll of 1,012 over 16s in Scotland from March 6-13.
