PETALING JAYA: Puspakom services - including mobile inspections - will resume effective Thursday (July 1), says Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
"To make things easier for the rakyat, I have instructed the director-general of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to remove the requirement to obtain a confirmation letter from the JPJ before conducting a vehicle inspection at Puspakom," he said.
"An official statement from the JPJ will be issued shortly," added Dr Wee in a post on Facebook on Thursday.
In the same post, Dr Wee also shared the latest notice regarding Puspakom's operating hours.
Its operation time will be from Monday to Friday or Sunday to Thursday for Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu between 8am to 5.30pm, while inspections will be on Saturday at selected branches only.
Inspections can only be made via online appointments through MyPUSPAKOM, and the public is advised to follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the Health Ministry.
It had been announced previously that operations would resume on July 1 for agencies under the purview of the Transport Ministry.
This includes the Road Transport Department (JPJ), Land Public Transport Agency (Apad), Puspakom, Marine Department, as well as the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board in Sabah and Sarawak.
