ELEVEN invigilators in Tamil Nadu, India, have been suspended after a special task force recovered nearly 5kg of “bit” papers, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Bit papers, as they are known to students, are unauthorised notes brought in with them in their attempt to cheat in the examinations.

The notes are usually written on tiny bits of paper which can easily be hidden.

There have also been cases of students in exam centres in several cities being caught discarding their bit papers through windows when a special squad, put together by the state exam board, came checking.

This resulted in nearly 5kg of such notes being collected and led to the suspension of the invigilators who failed to check the students thoroughly.

The 120-member flying squad, formed by the board, is tasked in monitoring, inspecting and responding to any irregularities including cheating during major examinations equivalent to the STPM and SPM in Malaysia.
