TWO glam pals scaled an imposing Lake District mountain — in high heels.

Emma Woodhall and Corinne Murray ditched their usual hiking wear for a charity climb.

They wore 4in heels and stylish dresses to tackle 2,850ft Blencathra, near Keswick, Cumbria.

Emma, 35, and Corinne, 42, tip-toed their way up on Sunday — before sprinting the last leg to Hallsfell Top, the highest point on the Wainwright peak.

Emma of Spennymoor, Co Durham, admitted: “I did think it was going to be really bad. I picked a pair of River Island heels I’ve had for a few years.

“It only took us 90 minutes from bottom to top, with a five-minute rest.

“We were over the moon and there were no injuries.”

Fellow hikers had warned the pair of the dangers of inappropriate footwear.
