Three police officers and the passenger of a second car were hospitalized after a crash in South Austin Monday night, police said.
About 9 p.m., the three officers were in an unmarked SUV headed north in the 300 block of North Laramie Avenue in South Austin when a Chrysler 200 headed west ran a stop sign and hit the SUV, police said in a media notification.
The three officers were taken to an area hospital for observation, the notification said, though it did not disclose which hospital. A 19-year-old man, a passenger in the Chrysler, was taken to Stroger Hospital. Details about the injuries the officers and the man suffered were not disclosed in the notification.
The driver of the Chrysler, a 20-year-old man, was not injured.
“Citations are pending against him,” the media notification said, without specifying the type of citation.
