Two men were killed after both suffered gunshot wounds to the head in the North Austin neighborhood Monday afternoon, Chicago police said in a media notification.
The shooting happened in the 5000 block of West Saint Paul Avenue around 12:35 p.m. Monday.

One of the men was identified as Darion Hood, 27, of the same block on which he was shot, according to information from the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 1:07 p.m. Monday. The second victim, 26, was pronounced dead at 1:13 p.m. Monday, also at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Police said the shooter was unknown and that Area Five detectives were investigating.
