KLANG: A man who was digging up a plot of empty land in Bandar Putera here to plant chillies and corn stumbled upon what he took to be old, unexploded bombs.
South Klang district police chief Asst Comm Shamsul Amar Ramli said the man called police at about noon on Monday (Aug 9) after making the discovery.
“The man said he had found two objects that resembled old bombs.
“Initial inspection by the police station’s armory unit found that the objects looked like old, inactive cannon ammunition.
“A bomb squad from Selangor police headquarters was contacted and both objects were safely detonated in a nearby area," ACP Shamsul Anuar added.
