Two 16-year-old boys were fatally wounded Friday night in northwest suburban Palatine.

       Shortly after 10 pm, Palatine police officers responded to a call of a person shot and found victims with life-threatening wounds, officials said. Two gunshot victims were found in the 1800 to 1900 block of Green Lane North.

       One of the teens was pronounced dead at the scene. The second boy was taken to Lutheran General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to a news release from Palatine police.

       The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office identified the victims Saturday as Eduardo Alpizar and Uriel Garcia.
