MARUGAME, Kagawa -- A married couple in this west Japan city were arrested Sept. 24 on suspicion of corpse abandonment for allegedly leaving their infant's body in a fridge at their home.
Yuto Inazuru, 25, and Airi Inazuru, 22, are suspected of conspiring with each other and abandoning their infant child's corpse in a small refrigerator on around Sept. 22. Yuto was quoted as telling police, "I said what to do, and I did it." Both suspects have reportedly admitted to the accusations.
A local child consultation center alerted police on Sept. 24 about "a couple who have put their miscarried infant in a fridge at home."
The sex of the infant is not known, and their body was reportedly found inside a plastic bag. The Marugame Police Station will carry out a judicial autopsy to ascertain the cause of death and other information.
The couple live together with their son, aged 1.
