       Three people were shot Sunday at a Lynwood bar, according to the village’s mayor.

       Police responded to New Corner Bar & Grill, 20600 Torrence Ave., to a report of shots fired and multiple people hurt, according to a statement from Mayor Jada Curry.

       Curry said that three people were wounded, and that the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force was assisting Lynwood investigators. The task force is usually activated when a crime involves a suspected homicide.

       The mayor said the shooting was the result of a fight at the business.

       In her statement, Curry described it as an “isolated incident and not the result of any gang or other nefarious activities.”

       The mayor said the task force is following up on leads and will remain involved in the case until the investigation is completed.

       Additional details regarding the shooting were not available Tuesday.
