A man died after he was struck by a Metra train just before 11 p.m. Sunday, according to a Metra spokeswoman.
Metra police responded to a call about a man struck by a Union Pacific West Line train between the Kedzie Avenue and Oak Park stations. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the spokeswoman said.
The man was trespassing, she said.
The train that struck him was scheduled to arrive at Elburn at 12:04 a.m. Monday The line was affected for about 3 hours and the train was released to its destination at 1:10 a.m., according to the spokeswoman.
The man’s identity is not known.
