       KUWAIT CITY, May 10: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah dissolved the newly elected National Assembly through a decree and suspended certain articles of the Constitution for a period not exceeding 4 years.

       “We have faced unbearable difficulties and obstacles, and our nation has endured tough times that profoundly affected our reality. During the preceding period, we witnessed behaviors and actions contrary to constitutional principles. The political unrest in the country has reached a point where I cannot remain silent about it. Corruption has infiltrated most government facilities and even security institutions. Democratic institutions have become a stage for some. Respecting the men of security is akin to respecting the men of authority, and I will not allow their dignity to be compromised,” H.H the Amir said in a television speech on Friday evening. (KUNA)
