KOTA KINABALU: Sabah DAP's Chan Foong Hin, who was the former state party secretary, did not make it to the top 15 committee posts in its party polls on Sunday (Nov 21).
Chan, who is also Kota Kinabalu MP, was replaced by Luyang assemblyman Ginger Phoong Jin Zhe.
He said he was surprised by the results but would not stop working with party members to push DAP's agenda.
'I will continue to work with the new Sabah DAP committee members to push for a Malaysian Malaysia and to uphold the three core values of DAP's social democracy ideologies, namely freedom, solidarity and justice," he said.
Chan said this was not the first time he had been defeated in the state DAP election, adding that the last time was in November 2015.
Sabah DAP will continue to be led by Tanjong Papat assemblyman Datuk Frankie Poon.
There are four new faces in the line-up – Wong Chun Miew (state assistant treasurer), Liau Fui Fui (Sabah organisation secretary) and committee members Foo Shok Tong and Sia Yu Hock.
