KLANG: The race for PKR's four elected vice-president posts is fierce in Selangor’s 22 divisions with Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari failing to make the cut in three places.

       Amirudin came out fifth in the Hulu Selangor, Kuala Selangor and Shah Alam divisions.

       However, he topped the list in the Sabak Bernam, Sungai Besar, Tanjong Karang, Gombak, Ampang, Hulu Langat, Bangi, Petaling Jaya, Damansara, Klang, Kuala Langat and Sepang divisions.

       Amirudin came in second in Puchong, Sungai Buloh, Kapar and Kota Raja and was fourth in Selayang and Pandan.

       PKR will elect four vice-presidents and appoint four more to helm the eight available positions.

       Besides Amirudin, others contesting for the four elected vice-president’s posts are Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, Kapar MP Datuk Abdullah Sani Abdul Halim, Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil, Sentosa assemblyman Gunaraj George, Alor Setar MP Chan Ming Kai, Tanjong Malim MP Chang Lih Kang, Kuantan MP Fuziah Salleh, former Perak PKR chairman Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, former Kapar MP G. Manivanan, incumbent youth vice-chief Thiban Subramaniam and former Perak PKR deputy chief MA Tinagaran.

       Other candidates who beat Amirudin for the first position in the race were Manivanan in Hulu Selangor and Subang; Chang in Kuala Selangor, Shah Alam and Selayang; Nik Nazmi in Pandan; Gunaraj in Sungai Buloh and Kota Raja; and Abdullah Sani in Kapar.

       In the three divisions that Amirudin did not make it to the top four, the top spots went to Manivanan, Chang, Aminuddin and Nik Nazmi in Hulu Selangor.

       In Kuala Selangor, Chang, Aminuddin, Nik Nazmi and Manivanan won the top spots while in Shah Alam, it went to Chang, Aminuddin, Fuziah and Nik Nazmi.
