"Well, I'm going to take this one step further. This Sunday at the NEC in Birmingham at midday, with doors opening from 10:30, we're going to hold the biggest political event of this General Election campaign.

"It'll be the biggest event I've ever done in my career and I want to show the country just how strong we are. So please be a part of it, it's going to be very exciting. Be a part of history."

Tickets cost £5 for the event that'll last an hour and a half. Birmingham NEC has a capacity of 15,685 and the Eventbrite website where supporters can buy tickets says 4,500 have already been sold.

Despite Farage's claims of "getting very enthusiastic crowds", new polls this week revealed that support for Reform appears to be stalling, with two showing record drops of three points.

A BMG Research opinion poll for the i newspaper put support for Reform at 16 percent, down from a record high of 19 percent last week, after Farage claimed that the West provoked Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

The Tories were on 20 percent, up from 19 percent previously, and Labour was still way out in the lead with 42 percent.

Farage doubled down on previous comments that the Russia-Ukraine war was caused by the eastward expansion of the EU and NATO.

This drew strong criticism as the UK has been a strong supporter of Ukraine since the war broke out in February 2022, with polls showing the public's support had not waned.

Now, Farage's announcement of the biggest political event of his career comes just days before the General Election on July 4, in which Labour are expected to secure a sweeping victory.
