KUCHING: Police have denied allegations of overcrowding without security control at the Covid-19 one-stop centre at the Kuching South City Council's community hall at Jalan Padungan here.
Kuching OCPD Asst Comm Ahsmon Bajah (pic) said two police officers and 14 personnel were stationed at the location to ensure crowd control and safety.
"Public safety and security control are the priorities of the police as the lead agency in this matter, together with Rela, local authorities and other agencies," he said.
ACP Ahsmon was responding to a Facebook post which showed photos claiming that there was no security control at the centre.
Besides police, he said other security personnel on duty included four enforcement officers from the Kuching South City Council, 12 Rela members and 20 personnel from the Civil Defence Force.
"There are also 160 Health Ministry personnel at the centre to ensure compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOP)," he said.
