Salvia plants appear in full bloom at Nokonoshima Island Park in Nishi Ward, Fukuoka, on Sept. 4, 2021. The salvia plants planted in the park's flowerbeds are growing well this year, turning the area into a sea of red, to the delight of visitors. According to the park, by repeatedly pruning the withered parts of the salvia plants, the flowers can be enjoyed until early December. Park spokesperson Hiroaki Yamazaki commented, "We are taking measures against infectious diseases, but the number of visitors is lower than usual. When the spread of the coronavirus is under control, we hope that people will come to the park to relax after the fatigue of self-restraint."
