TOKYO -- The rainy season has apparently ended in eastern Japan's Kanto-Koshin region that includes Tokyo and in northern Japan's Tohoku region, the Japan Meteorological Agency announced on July 16.
The season's end came three days earlier than the average year in the Kanto-Koshin region, eight days earlier in the southern Tohoku region (Fukushima, Miyagi and Yamagata prefectures), and 12 days earlier in the northern Tohoku region (Aomori, Akita and Iwate prefectures).
According to the weather agency, the Kanto-Koshin and Tohoku regions will see many clear days over the next week, with a high atmospheric pressure system hovering over the areas.
