Do you know enough about Taylor Swift to work at the V&A? Take our quiz and find out

It’s a Swiftie’s wildest dream: the chance to be paid to put your encyclopaedic knowledge of Taylor Swift to good use. In a bid to appeal to Gen Z, the Victoria & Albert museum in London is hiring a “Taylor Swift superfan adviser” to provide insight into “the culture and artisanry around handmade signs, friendship bracelets and Taylor Swift memorabilia”.

Swift, whose net worth recently surpassed a billion dollars thanks to her blockbuster Eras world-tour, has a frenzied fandom unlike any other, spurred on by her habit of dropping clues or “Easter eggs” in her lyrics, social media posts and music videos.

The Swift “superfan adviser” is one of nine new roles at the museum which have been created to bring V&A curators up to speed on topics relevant to young people, including Lego, Pokémon and “Gorpcore” (a fashion trend of wearing outdoor gear as streetwear).

A spokesman for the museum said: “These are unique advisory roles, not salaried positions. The superfans will be paid per session at a rate that reflects the work they’re doing.” This is not the first time companies have called on fans for their expertise; in September last year, an American job ad for a “Taylor Swift reporter” went viral. Alas – that position has now been filled.

Swift’s army of superfans means there will be no shortage of willing candidates for the V&A role. Would you be up to the job?
