KUALA LU MPUR: ES Ceramics Technology Bhd, a maker of handformers for the rubber glove industry, said earnings in the last quarter jumped on strong demand and higher selling prices.

       Net profit for the three-month ended May 31 soared to RM14.5mil to lift full year earnings to RM30.2mil.

       Revenue in the final quarter was RM42.8mil compared with RM8.5mil a year ago.

       The surge in earnings, ES Ceramics said was "in tandem with the increase in revenue due to high demand of formers."

       "The prospects for growth in the rubber glove industry are positive as the industry is expected to continue to be driven by the growth in the global and domestic healthcare industry as one of the essential item in the medical supplies," it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.
