PUTRAJAYA: Covid-19 vaccination centres (PPVs) have been directed not to turn away migrant workers who have inoculation appointments via MySejahtera, says Khairy Jamaluddin (pic).
The coordinating minister for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme said those who have appointments stated on their MySejahtera would be vaccinated accordingly as stated in the system.
“I have given PPVs the order to vaccinate migrant workers who have appointments,” he said Friday (July 16).
Khairy was asked to comment on reports where migrant workers who turned up at PPVs for their appointments were not inoculated and were instead asked to go home.
According to reports, authorities at the centres said that foreign workers are to be vaccinated under the PIKAS initiative and not at PPVs.
On another matter, Khairy said that PPVs in Melaka are operating six days a week according to optimum capacity.
“We are looking at ramping up the roll out of vaccinations as the number of cases in the state is seeing an upward trend,” he said.
