IPOH: Returning Malaysians who have been immunised overseas can update their vaccination status at the nearest district health office.
Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali said those who had yet to update their MySejahtera app could provide the necessary documents at the nearest district health office for the information to be updated.
“They have to show the (vaccination) documents at the nearest district health office for validation.
“It can then be uploaded on to MySejahtera,” he said when contacted.
He said the process should have been done at the airport or other gateways into the country upon arrival.
“If they have the necessary documents, I believe the health officers would have taken all the information to be updated into the app.
“It would have been done before people were allowed to leave for their self-isolation,” he said.
Separately, Dr Noor Azmi said only the digital Covid-19 vaccination certificate on the MySejahtera app and the white vaccination card issued by the Health Ministry were recognised.
“The government does not recognise any other documents apart from the ones mentioned.
“People just need to show the certificate on their mobile phone or the white card if they are stopped at roadblocks or are asked to show proof at eateries.
“Some folk even laminated the white card,” he told a press conference after visiting the public vaccination centre in Gopeng yesterday.
“There’s no need to print out the digital certificate,” he added.
Dr Noor Azmi was asked to comment on vaccination certificate cards that were being sold online.
It was reported that printed versions of the digital certificates found on the MySejahtera app were being sold for between RM12 and RM15.
Dr Noor Azmi said the government did not allow any party to issue a printed version of the digital certificate.
“We have not allowed such sales. This is a fraud.
“I understand that this only occurred recently in Kedah,” he said.
“The Health Ministry’s inspectorate and legal department and the police will investigate the matter and will take the necessary action,” he said.
