An 8-year-old girl was shot in the arm as she sat inside a Roseland home early Thursday on the Far South Side in a shooting that also left a woman dead. Earlier, two 15-year-olds were among four teens shot in a Little Village attack, according to Chicago police.

The two shootings left seven people shot, including a 40-year-old woman who died, according to a police media notification. She had not been identified by the medical examiner’s office as of Thursday morning.

Officers were called to the 11300 block of South Wentworth Avenue about 1:10 a.m. and found two women, one 40 and the other 30, had been shot as they sat on a porch, police said. The 40-year-old was shot in the torso and she was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was pronounced dead.

The two women had been outside on the porch when someone stepped out of a white Nissan and shot at the women multiple times, police said. The 30-year-old woman suffered a graze wound to the torso and she was taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where she initially was in good condition.

“One of the shots fired entered the house,” according to police, and hit the 8-year-old girl in the arm. She was also taken to Roseland and she had been listed in good condition, authorities said.

Earlier, around 8:20 p.m. in Little Village on the West Side, four teens were shot as they were walking down the street in the 2200 block of South Millard Avenue, police said.

The teens were approached by a dark-colored SUV, when someone inside the vehicle started shooting at the group, including two 15-year-olds and two 18-year-olds, police said.

       All four teenagers were shot:

A 15-year-old was shot in the buttocks and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. A 15-year-old was shot in the left thigh and was taken to Stroger in good condition. An 18-year-old was shot in the right foot and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital Hospital where his condition had been stabilized. An 18-year-old was shot in the leg and was taken to Stroger where he was listed in serious condition.

Police said no arrests had been made and the shootings remained under investigation.
