TAWAU: Police arrested two women trying to smuggle syabu into Indonesia, with each hiding 20 plastic bags estimated to be worth RM72,720 of the drug in her girdle under a Muslim gown and hijab.
Tawau police chief Asst Comm Peter Umbuas said the women, aged 38 and 40, from West Sulawesi, were arrested last Wednesday while travelling in a vehicle driven by a 48-year-old local man who was also detained.
“Hidden in their girdles were four packages, each containing 10 plastic bags of syabu,” he said.
ACP Peter said only the man tested positive for drugs. All three of them were remanded for seven days until Sept 22. — Bernama
