NIBONG TEBAL: The body of a disabled man who is believed to have drowned after falling into a ditch has been found.

       The Fire and Rescue Department said it received a distress call from the police on Sunday (Aug 22) at around 10.45pm.

       “When we arrived at the scene near a school in Ladang Byram here, we received information from the public that a disabled victim was believed to have fallen into a ditch and the victim had drowned.

       “The firemen, who were donned in full personal protective equipment (PPE), conducted a search using a grappling iron and managed to find the 35-year-old victim in the ditch.

       “The victim was brought ashore and was confirmed dead by medical officers. The body was handed over to the police for further action.

       “The operation ended at 1.25am on Monday (Aug 23),” it read.
