PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 2,605 new Covid-19 infections on Tuesday (May 10), says the Health Ministry.
The Health Ministry said through data released on its CovidNow portal on Wednesday (May 11) that this brings the new total to 4,463,740 cases since the pandemic began.
Of the 2,605, four are imported cases while 2,601 are local.
The CovidNow portal also said that there were 2,014 recoveries on Tuesday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 22,953.
Of the active cases, 94.2% or 21,612 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 24 people or 0.1% are being treated at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres (PKRC).
Only 5.4% of active cases or 1,250 individuals needed to be hospitalised, with 67 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.
Of that number, 38 require ventilator support.
