PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,155 new Covid-19 infections on Sunday (May 29), says the Health Ministry.
The Health Ministry said through data released on its CovidNow portal on Monday (May 30) that this brings the new total to 4,503,734 cases since the pandemic began.
Of the 1,155, three are imported cases while 1,152 are local.
The CovidNow portal also said that there were 1,975 recoveries on Sunday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 24,393.
Of the active cases, 95.9% or 23,403 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 17 people or 0.1% are being treated at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres (PKRC).
Only 3.8% of active cases or 939 individuals needed to be hospitalised, with 34 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.
Of that number, 18 require ventilator support.
