A CHIHUAHUA saved her owner’s life by detecting her stage three cancer — jumping on her stomach and causing a huge lump to appear.
Tess Robison, 41, would often see pet Lola staring at her as the hairdresser struggled for weeks with back pain and a bloated feeling.

Tess, who thought she had a food intolerance, said: “I know
can be intuitive and it was freaking me out a bit.
“One day I was suffering from particularly bad pain and she jumped heavily on me.
“The pain was like something else. A big lump came up so I went to get it check out.”
Tests found she had ovarian cancer. Tess said: “I was devastated by the diagnosis but it meant I could get the treatment I needed.
“If I’d left it any longer it would have been too late. Lola saved my life.”
Tess, married to plasterer Paul, 34, has had four-year-old Lola since she was a puppy.

She was diagnosed in January and had the tumour removed in March in a hysterectomy.
She said: “The tumour was nearly five inches, it was quite big and I looked four months’ pregnant. Being slim, it stuck out quite far.”
The operation was followed by six rounds of chemotherapy and this month she hopes to get the all-clear.
Tess, of South Shields, Tyne and Wear, added: “I’m going to fight this all the way. I’ve got so much I want to do.”
