PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim and Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah have been appointed as Prasarana Group Malaysia chairman and chief executive officer respectively.
In a Facebook post, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong congratulated the duo on their appointments, which took effect yesterday, and noted that both have vast experience in heading large companies in terms of operations and administration as well as being involved in the formulation of policies and initiatives for the public sector.
“The Transport Ministry will continue to work closely with the leadership of Prasarana in its efforts to better the public transport services for the people and nation,” Dr Wee said.
Jamaludin spent 12 years as president and group CEO of Axiata Group Bhd while Azharuddin is formerly the CEO of the Land Public Transport Commission from 2015 to 2018.Jamaludin took over from Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, who was terminated from his post on May 26 after he was widely criticised for his performance at a press conference following the train collision on the Kelana Jaya LRT line.
