Pahang MB: No plans for theme park in Camerons

KUANTAN: The state government has not received any formal application or negotiated with any party to build a theme park in Cameron Highlands, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

The claims that a theme park was being planned were not true, he said.

“Don’t believe it – so far there has been no official application and we have never discussed the matter in the exco (executive council) meeting,” he told a press conference after visiting the vaccination centre (PPV) for adolescents at SMK Bukit Rangin here yesterday.

He was commenting on claims that a RM100mil theme park over a 24ha site would be built in Cameron Highlands.

Non-governmental organisations and local residents have objected to the idea.

Also present at the PPV were Deputy Finance Minister 1 Mohd Shahar Abdullah, state secretary Datuk Seri Dr Sallehuddin Ishak, state health director Datuk Dr Nor Azimi Yunus and education director Mohammad Rosli Abdul Rahman.

On Pahang’s transition to Phase Three of the National Recovery Plan, Wan Rosdy said all criteria had been met except for the relatively high intensive care unit bed usage. — Bernama
