A full moon appears through the clouds shrouding Kengamine peak on Mount Fuji during a partial lunar eclipse just before 6 p.m. on Nov. 19, 2021, in Fujinomiya, Shizuoka Prefecture. The partial lunar eclipse was observed across Japan that evening, with a maximum of 97.8% of the moon's face hidden by Earth's shadow a little past 6 p.m. The appearance of the full moon over Mount Fuji's summit is called a "Pearl Fuji." The section of the moon hidden in the shadows appeared copper, similar to the color of a total lunar eclipse. Dozens of photographers were in the city, shutters clicking at full speed, to capture the rare copper Pearl Fuji.
