KUALA LUMPUR: Aeon Co (M) Bhd and Aeon BiG (M) Sdn Bhd have raised the minimum wage for Grade G employees to RM1,500 per month from RM1,200 effective since Jan 1.

       In a statement yesterday, the retailer said the amount was the basic salary and did not include allowances or other incentives.

       The effective date of the new wage was earlier than the end-2002 target recommended by the government.

       “It is in line with Aeon Sayap Bagimu’s sustainability initiative which aims at providing opportunities, encouragement and support to stakeholders,” said chief human resources officer cum corporate communications director Dr Kasuma Satria Mat Jadi.
