       A former middle-school teacher in Montgomery County was arrested Tuesday amid allegations she engaged in sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old student over several months in 2015, according to court documents.

       Melissa Marie Curtis, now 31, turned herself in to authorities and was ordered held in jail without bond. She is expected to appear before a judge Wednesday to have the terms of her confinement reviewed. Curtis has been charged with one count of sex abuse of a minor and 14 counts of third-degree and fourth-degree sex offense.

       Her attorney, Audrey Creighton, declined to comment.

       Curtis taught at Montgomery Village Middle School in 2015, police said. The 14-year-old was an 8th grader at the same school and Curtis was 22, according to court records.

       Curtis also taught at Lakelands Park Middle School, police said, and spent a total of two years working for the Montgomery County Public Schools system.

       A schools spokesman didn’t immediately provide Curtis’s exact work history, but said she left in 2017.

       Detectives began their investigation early last month and spoke to the former student on Oct. 5. He said that starting in the beginning of 2015, he and Curtis engaged in sex acts, including at least once inside a classroom, according to police allegations filed in court.

       The incidents also took place in a car, at a house in Germantown, at the student’s house and in a movie theater, according to the court filings. The incidents stopped by May 1, 2015, according to court records.
