A family in South Staffordshire woke up to find their house covered in a black mess

The attack, which happened at 4.30am last Friday, left the windows, front door and garage ruined.

The homeowner's daughter said she was "seething" after her family started feeling sick due to the liquid thrown on their house.

She wrote on Facebook: "No, l'm not angry I'm positively seething. Woken up at 4am by someone throwing what we suspect is used engine oil at the front of my father's house now smelling through the whole property making us all feel very very sick.

"l only woke up by chance after hearing something being thrown at the downstairs window.

"If you know who this was please do the right thing and call it in."

Staffordshire Police said they launched an investigation but no arrests have been made so far.

It is believed the offender exited a silver car and filled some buckets from the rear of the vehicle before throwing the liquid onto the property.

He was described as a man in their 20s, around 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall, and wearing dark clothing including a dark hoodie.

Any person who witnessed the attack has been urged to contact Staffordshire Police to help with their inquiry.

The Sun has contacted Staffordshire Police for comment.
