PUTRAJAYA: Graft-busters have arrested a former project manager following claims of bribery amounting to RM30,000 for awarding works to a certain company.
The 41-year-old suspect was arrested on Tuesday (March 29) at the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Kuala Lumpur office.
A five-day remand order until April 3 was issued by Magistrate Wong Chai Sia following an application by graft investigators.
Sources said the suspect is believed to have accepted bribes channelled to a bank account of a company, which he is the owner.
It is learnt that the money was from a manager whose company was given the job to supply and install signboards and logos for a media agency.
When contacted, Kuala Lumpur MACC chief Razaliah Ab Rahman confirmed the arrest.
