MELAKA: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali is unfazed by an alleged attempt to take over the state govt, saying that the administration will continue as normal.

"My focus now is how to assist those impacted by Covid-19 and I will execute my task diligently," he said on Saturday (Oct 2).

Sulaiman said there are more crucial issues relating to the economy and development that needed to be looked into.

"The people's welfare must be placed as a priority and I will do my best to serve everyone without being distracted by unsavoury politics," he said.

On Friday (Oct 1), a purported attempt to oust Sulaiman as Chief Minister fizzled out following internal conflict within a political party, causing the move to fail.

Four DAP assemblymen were said to have pulled their support from the group trying to force Sulaiman out.

The alleged plan did not materialise due to differences within Melaka DAP, with the four refusing to work with those who had left the previous Pakatan Harapan-led administration.
