GEORGE TOWN: Police will call up DAP secretary Lim Guan Eng to assist investigations for allegedly breaching his Covid-19 home quarantine order recently.
State police chief Datuk Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said the Bagan MP will be summoned after completing his quarantine today.
“Police have received three reports lodged against him,” he said.
State Gerakan Youth spokesman Mohd Aswad Jaafar on Wednesday lodged a police report against Lim for allegedly attending the Penang state assembly sitting.
State MCA Youth had also come forward to lodge police reports on the matter.
Meanwhile, Lim in his Facebook posts claimed he was only informed that he could be a close contact with a Covid-19-positive patient on Sept 1 when he attended the Penang state Assembly meeting on Sept 2.
“I remained under home self-quarantine after attending the state assembly and tested negative.
“I did not go out in public to distribute food parcels after Sept 2,” Lim wrote on Facebook.
