Emergency services rushed to Hartcliffe as reports say the responders have surrounded Rowan House. One local said police have cordoned off the area, with another saying armed officers are at the scene.

       According to a traffic update from Inrix, roads at the site are close in both directions.

       They said: “Roundstone Street in both directions closed due to building fire between A361 Hilperton Road and Silver Street.

       "Traffic is coping well.

       “All emergency services are at the scene.”

       In images published by Bristol Live, police are seen putting up a cordon near Rowan House.

       Another picture appears to show emergency service vehicles near the flats.

       A resident told the resident the incident was unfolding “opposite in tower block house”.

       She said: "There are lots of police cars, ambulance and response unit came now."
