KUWAIT CITY, July 18, (KUNA): The Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) launched Sunday, a vaccination campaign against Covid- 19, the largest of its kind at the level of institutions and companies operating in the State of Kuwait. The Executive Vice President of Support Services at the company, Abdulaziz Al-Duaij, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that this campaign is being implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, and it is expected that approximately 10,000 employees of the company and its contracting companies will be vaccinated within 12 hours.

       Campaign

He pointed out that the campaign refl ects the KNPC’s keenness to support the state’s efforts to confront the spread of this epidemic and its quest to reduce the risks of its spread among society. He stressed that vaccinating this large number in one day is an achievement that would not have been achieved without the concerted efforts of the company and the Ministry of Health, which deserves to be commended for the great facilities it provided, whether through the provision of vaccines or the provision of working health staff, which are highly appreciated. Al-Duaij explained that the most prominent challenge was the ability to gather such a large number of people to take the vaccine in one day and in one place, noting that the company’s security and firefighting support and training center was chosen as a vaccination site due to its large area and the advanced equipment it provides, especially those related to the safety and security requirements. He praised the good organization and arrangement of the vaccination process, which made it easy despite the strong demand by the employees to take the vaccine, calling on everyone to adhere to health requirements and be patient and careful. For his part, the company’s chief physician, Dr. Abdulmohsen Al-Kandari, confirmed in a similar statement to KUNA that coordination has been made with the Ministry of Health to send a medical team consisting of 100 male and female nurses to complete the vaccination process within 12 hours, starting at eight in the morning and ending at eight in the evening, through the division of work and in an organized and timely manner

       Meeting

In turn, a member of the Ministry of Health’s Field Vaccination Committee, Dr. Ali Khaja, told KUNA that meeting the KNPC’s invitation came within the framework of the ministry’s direction to expand the implementation of field campaigns, pointing out that the ministry has entered the fifth phase of its plan. In this regard Dr Khaja thanked the company and its senior management for this distinguished organization and for providing the integrated statements and data, wishing everyone success and a return soon, God willing, to normal life, through vaccination that guarantees the formation of community immunity.
